Parsing IIS Log Files

Hello All,

I desperately need your help about parsing the log files. I may be required to parse the log files to understand about URLs on our site that gets frequent hits, may be filtered by user-agent, bot etc. I don't want to go with the paid tools as yet before trying some of the free tools that's how I came to know about windows log parser.

My job require me to parse multiple log files of almost 1GB every week. I tried using excel after reading some articles online which sounded more efficient and productive. But due to the large file size, my machine hangs during the process. May be that's for a small site with less pages I believe.

Can you please tell me if I can get it done just by using logparser? If so, can you please explain it to me being a complete newbie?

Thanks for much the help!
